Volunteers Needed: "Play Your Part" Volunteer Event

March 7, 2013 | The Toy Industry Foundation (TIF) will host a volunteer event to benefit new national partner, CASA for Children, on Friday April 5, 2013 in Commerce, California.

Volunteers from the toy industry – both corporate teams and individuals – are invited to attend the “Play Your Part” event, where they will help sort and bundle new toys and write personal notes of encouragement to be sent to nearly 6,000 foster children waiting to be placed in loving, permanent homes. Up to 150 toy industry volunteers are expected for an afternoon of philanthropy, networking and fun.

“Something extraordinary happens when you give a child a toy,” says Jean Butler, Toy Industry Foundation Executive Director.  “They know that someone cares about them and that someone wants them to feel loved and supported. We’re excited to hold this industry-wide volunteer event to put smiles on the faces of children who truly need and deserve it.”

Donations of toys that are suitable for children from infants to teens, as well as corporate sponsors, are also requested to ensure that the event is a success.

Volunteer registration can be completed online; for more information, contact TIF’s Marisa Medina (646.454.5581).
