Recruit a New Member and
Receive a Discount on Your Membership Dues Renewal!
Contribute to the growth and health of the association by
participating in TIA’s Member-to-Member Recruitment Program.
As a member, you understand the value of a TIA membership. Share
that knowledge firsthand with your contacts in the industry. A
growing TIA means greater recognition for the industry, more resources
to support member programs, and a stronger voice when advocating issues
with state and national legislative members.
All current TIA Regular members are invited to participate.
Members who recruit prospective TIA member(s) must submit this simple form prior to the
recruitment process in order to be eligible to receive a membership dues
renewal discount for the following year. TIA will confirm receipt
and approval/non-approval of the recruitment form.
Member Recruitment: Confirmation

All required application forms and dues payments must be received
from the new member in order for the current member to be eligible for
the membership dues renewal discount the following year. These
forms include:
The member company has three months to successfully recruit the
new member following the submission of their approved Regular Membership
Recruitment form.
When the current TIA member successfully recruits the new member
listed on the recruitment form, TIA will send a letter confirming the
appropriate membership dues renewal discount for the following
year. TIA will also send a membership confirmation letter to the
new member.
Member Recruitment: Dues Discount

Successful recruitment of a new member will earn the recruiting
member a discount on their annual membership dues renewal for the
following year. The recruitment discount is based on the size of the
incoming prospective member’s net annual toy sales in North
America for their most recent full fiscal year. The recruiting
member dues discount is presented in the following schedule:

Recruitment Tips

Here are some helpful tips to keep in mind when recruiting new
members to join TIA:
- Identify the best prospects. Review your network of colleagues
and check the online member
directory to find out if they are a member; or when you meet a
new contact consider asking if they are a member.
- Know the benefits of TIA membership. The more familiar you
are, the better equipped you will be to discuss with your
prospects. Membership Materials are provided in the links below,
including a member brochure and application.
- Express how membership has benefitted you. Why did you join
and what have you found most beneficial? Hearing your personal
opinion will influence prospects’ decision to join.
- Follow up. Touch base in a few weeks after initial contact to
inquire if they’ve joined or have any questions. If
they haven’t, gently remind them to do so. If they have,
it’s professional to welcome them to the
association.

Rules & Regulations

- TIA reserves the right to approve the Regular Membership Recruitment
form submitted by a member before the new member recruitment process
begins.
- Only TIA members in good standing are eligible to participate in the
regular membership recruitment process.
- Standard TIA membership qualification rules apply to incoming
prospective members.
- The member recruitment program is designed to recruit
“regular” members only and does not apply to recruitment of
“associate” members.
- The member recruitment program is designed to recruit
“new” members only. A company that has not been a TIA
member for two consecutive years is eligible to be recruited as a
“new” member.
- A recruiter company will be instructed to consult the online
membership directory in order to determine whether the company they
refer is already a member or not, as it provides the most up to date
information.
- A current member has a three month time period to successfully
recruit a new member following the submission of an approved Regular
Membership Recruitment form.
- All required application forms and full annual dues payments must be
received from the new member in order for the current member to be
eligible for the membership dues renewal discount for the following
year. Forms include: completed TIA Membership Application Form and
TIA ICTI Care Pledge Form (where applicable).
- The membership renewal dues discount is applied to the current
member company for the following year’s dues after a prospective
new company becomes a confirmed TIA member.
- The membership renewal dues discount awarded to the recruiting
member is based on the size of the incoming new member’s net
annual toy sales in North America for their most recent full fiscal
year.
- Members may recruit multiple eligible candidates; however, the
recruiting member company’s discount will not exceed 25% of their
membership dues for the following renewal year.
- Member discount cannot exceed the total amount of annual dues.
- The membership renewal dues discount applies only if the member
renews for the membership cycle the following year. The membership
renewal dues discount cannot be redeemed or applied to any other TIA
product or service.
- In the event that more than one membership recruitment form is
submitted for the same prospective member, only the first member to
submit the form will be eligible to receive the membership renewal dues
discount. TIA retains the right to determine which form was received
first.
- Existing members are not eligible to qualify as new members or claim
as being recruited by another member company.
