President's Letter -- December 21, 2010: New Meaning to
“Season’s Greetings”
The traditional holiday salutation, “Season’s
Greetings,” has particular meaning in the toy
business.
At TIA, this is the season when we wrestle with NGO attacks; work to
fulfill our Toy Fair goals; solicit member renewals; and anxiously await
industry sales reports. So each year we greet the season with a
little trepidation.
But thanks to the fine team of hardworking professionals that we have
on our staff, we sail through each challenging holiday season in fine
form. I have witnessed TIA go from strength to strength for
the past five years. Every member of our staff cares deeply about
the quality of their work and the industry that we serve. It is a
privilege for me to work with them.
In this short seasonal message, I want to say thank you to the staff,
and thank you also to the more than 550 members and 1,100 Toy Fair
exhibitors that support our work.
The intensity of the toy business does not diminish the joy and
warmth of the holiday season. So at every level of meaning I wish
all of you the warmest Season’s Greetings.
