Helpful Tools for Planning

A recording of Toy
Fair PR Bootcamp: Tips for Developing your Toy Fair 2013 Media
Promotions and Strategies, a webinar that took place in
mid-December, reviews for exhibitors:
- How to get noticed by buyers and media and get them excited about
your key brands and products in the weeks leading up to Toy Fair;
including the development of a comprehensive media list;
- Tools and resources offered by the Toy Fair PR and Advertising and
Promotions team;
- Smart and successful ways to package and present product and trend
information for the media;
- How to leverage social media, including Facebook, Pinterest,
Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and other outlets before, during and after
the show;
- Promotional opportunities available through TIA;
- How to keep the momentum going after the show.
Online Press Room

The Toy Fair PR Team offers an Online Press Room for
exhibitors. Managed by Virtual Press Office (VPO), this service allows
companies to post electronic press kits, press releases and other news,
as well as wire distribution services via PR Newswire (additional fee
required).
The Online Press Room is a resource for reporters before,
during and after Toy Fair 2013; it is featured prominently at the work
stations in Toy Fair’s Press Center. All items posted to the site remain
for one year.
Reminder: No hard-copy press materials or flyers are
distributed in the Toy Fair on-site Press Center, however, exhibitors
may distribute these materials at their booths.
Trend Database Product Submission

Each Toy Fair exhibitor is permitted to submit up to three (3)
products for inclusion in a “product and trend” database that is used by
the TIA PR/Trends team to inform and educate media on products and
trends at the show.
All product information must be submitted online no
later than Friday, February 1st.
NOTE: All information must be submitted in full; no changes
to the online form are possible following submittal. A practice
form is available to collect data prior to submission.
Pre-Show Product Previews

The Toy Fair PR Team hosts a press preview the day before Toy Fair
opens to familiarize team members with your products and newsworthy
information. This unique opportunity gives you a 15-minute
face-to-face meeting with a member of our team to show your top three
products.
For more information on the Product Preview, contact Dan Fernandez of
the Toy Fair PR Team.
Toy Fair Press Center

Even though access to the Toy Fair Press Center is
reserved for the 1,000+ credentialed members of the press who cover the
show, exhibitors have several opportunities to shine a spotlight on
their
products!
- New Product
Showcase
An electronic display of new toys and games being introduced at Toy
Fair 2013 will be constantly rotating on monitors in the Press Room
throughout the show. In order to have your product details, image
and booth number included in the video loop, you must participate in the
Pre-Show Product Preview described above.
- “Happenings” at Toy Fair (e.g., media-friendly
events)
A second electronic display will feature a daily calendar of on-site
events, celebrity appearances, press conferences or other events.
Let us know your schedule ASAP so the PR Team can also include the
details in pre-show media pitches, reporter referrals, and more.
- Sponsorship Opportunities
Though the Press Center is officially a ‘no exhibitor’ zone,
promotional options – from coffee breaks to re-charging stations and
from branded tote bags to Internet workstations – are available for
exhibitors who would like to showcase their brand in front of the
media.
- Interview Central
Credentialed members of the press can reserve space in a semi-private
area to conduct interviews with exhibitors or do video stand-ups against
an official Toy Fair backdrop … this is the only exception to the “no
exhibitors in the Press Center” rule.
Media List

The Toy Fair 2013 Media List is not offered until after the show,
however
a copy of last year’s media list is available to all Toy Fair 2013
exhibitors. This is a terrific tool to help begin your show outreach. To
request your copy, contact TIA's Adrienne Appell.
