How do I pre-register as a member of the media for Toy Fair?
Writers, reporters, bloggers*, correspondents, editors, producers,
and photographers/camera crews may register for media credentials at Toy
Fair. All requests are subject to show management approval.
- Registration may be completed online through February 15, 2014.
- On-site registration is available during show hours (Sunday –
Wednesday), February 16-19.
Pre-registration and credentialing will expedite media check-in at
the Toy Fair Press Center.
Media Credentials
All media must be 18 years of age or older to access the show
floor.
First time attendees and on-site registrants must submit at least two
of the following:
- Copy of business card showing name, company name and relevant
editorial title
- Police-issued press card
- Current publication masthead or editorial page listing your name and
editorial title
- Printed copy of recent bylined article (print or online) or blog
post* indicating that you are a staff editor, writer, reporter or
regular contributor
- Letter on company stationery that identifies you and your editorial
position at the media outlet
- Verifiable letter of assignment from a bona fide media outlet (for
freelance writers, reporters or photographers)
*Blogs must reflect current toy industry and/or related news.
New posts must be created on a weekly basis or greater frequency.
Blog traffic must exceed a minimum of 500 unique visits a month.
NOTE: Effective immediately, media representatives who cannot
present the documents above and do not qualify will be denied entry to
the show. Prior admission does not guarantee entry.
How do I get my
badge for access to the show floor?
Press badges are not mailed prior to the show. All members of the
media, whether they pre-register online or register on-site, must pick
up their Press badges at the Toy Fair Press Center, located on the Lower
Level of the Javits Center at the Special Events Hall (1D).
This will be the only Press Center location for the show.
Can I bring my
child(ren) to Toy Fair? What about child reporters?
No children under the age of 18 are admitted to the Toy Fair show
floor – this includes children of all show participants (media,
exhibitors, buyers, trade guests, etc.).
Child reporters under the age of 18 are not permitted on the show
floor.
Is contact
information available pre-show so that I can book appointments In
advance?
Yes. Use the Exhibitor
Search tool to search by product category, keyword, company
name, exhibit location, state or country.
Is there any
information about new products that I can access before the show?
Yes, the Toy Fair Online Press
Room provides the media with online access to participating
exhibitors' press information, including new product press releases,
press kits, photos, product sheets, company news and backgrounders and
more.
Traditional paper press kits will no longer be displayed in the Press
Center, though they are permitted at exhibitor booths.
Please be reminded that it is against Toy Fair guidelines for
registered members of the media to actively solicit free samples from
exhibitors; however, there are no restrictions on samples that are
offered by the exhibitor.
Can I take photos
and/or videotape the exhibits at Toy Fair?
Media representatives must ask permission of exhibitors before taking
any still photos or videotaping in the exhibitors' booth or showroom.

I represent a
television outlet. How can I arrange to do a live broadcast from Toy
Fair?
Producers at television outlets who would like to do a live broadcast
at the Javits Center must contact TIA's Adrienne
Appell or the Toy Fair PR
agency to pre-arrange access and logistical information. TIA cannot
assist with live broadcasts at showroom locations.
