TIA Receives Awards for Toy Fair, “Play Happens,”
and Toy News Tuesday

recently received awards and top honors for its communications, trade
show, and social media initiatives:
- TIA’s American International Toy Fair, the largest toy trade
show in the Western hemisphere, jumped three spots to #41 on the Gold
100 List of “Shows that Set the Gold Standard” by Trade
Show Executive Magazine at the Trade Show Executive Gold 100 Summit
& Awards in Washington, DC (October 3-5). The awards program,
which salutes the exhibition industry’s leading trade shows, also
presented TIA with the coveted “Gold Grand Award” for
“Best Use of Social Media” for Toy Fair’s “Play
Happens” game, which transforms New York City into a virtual game
board.
- "Play Happens” was also named as one of five honorees for “Best Social Media
Initiative” by the Professional Convention Management
Association’s Convene magazine. The awards program honors
the best meetings, industry venues, destinations and service providers
in 10 categories.
- TIA’s Toy News Tuesday came in first place in the E-Newsletter
category at the PR News Digital PR Awards Luncheon on Monday,
October 1. As the Association’s free weekly e-newsletter that
delivers timely information about the toy industry to TIA members and
industry stakeholders, Toy News Tuesday won for its three-step
improvement campaign which enhanced deliverability rates and increased
newsletter readership. Celebrating the “creativity, technical
savvy and storytelling skills in digital communications,” the
awards luncheon took place at the Grand Hyatt in New York City.
“We were pleased to take home these top prizes for our various
Association activities,” stated Carter Keithley, TIA president.
“To be recognized by our peers for our innovative communications
and our highly successful Toy Fair is an honor that can’t be
beat!”
