Reminder: August 15 Deadline to Nominate a Local Charity for a Play Connects Grant

July 16, 2012 | Toy Industry Association (TIA) member companies are encouraged to nominate a community-based charity for one of three Play Connects grants – up to $10,000 each – to be awarded by the Toy Industry Foundation (TIF) in 2012. Companies are advised to give nominated charities enough time to complete and submit the grant application by the August 15, 2012 deadline.

Launched by TIF in 2011, Play Connects aims to help fund unique children’s charities that the toy industry cares about … to connect TIA members with the rewarding world of philanthropy … and to make a difference in the lives of children in need across the country.

Last year, grants were awarded to the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford, CT; Friends of the Children in Portland, OR; The Magic House at the St. Louis Children’s museum; and 826 Valencia in San Francisco. Qualified applications received by TIF on or before August 15, 2012 will be reviewed by a Committee comprised of members from the TIF Board of Trustees.  Up to three grant recipients will be chosen; they will be announced in December 2012. Both full and associate TIA members may nominate a deserving charity of their choosing.
