TIF Welcomes New Toy Bank Contributors

September 25, 2012 | The Toy Industry Foundation (TIF), the philanthropic arm of the North American toy industry, thanks the following five (5) companies for their inaugural donations to The Toy Bank during July, August, and September:

Private Island Party
Family Pastimes
Super Sprowtz
Mungi Bands
Whirled Peas the Game

Toys donated by these companies were distributed to three charities in the Toy Bank network serving children in need; to children at TIF’s Cowboy “Hoedown” party for pediatric cancer patients in New York City in July; and to foster children at Mott Haven Academy in September.

Year-round, with the help of partner Kids in Distressed Situations, The Toy Bank distributes toys across the U.S. and Canada to nearly 1,000 carefully selected children’s charities and to TIF partners Boys & Girls Clubs of America Military Services and My Stuff Bags Foundation. All Toy Bank donors have their company name listed on the TIF website, in the TIF Annual Report, and in TOTY Tribute Book, and may request an official Toy Bank supporter badge for use on their company website.

Since its inception in 2003, The Toy Bank has collected more than $68 million in toys from more than 1,300 companies. In many cases, product can be picked up free of charge. To join the Toy Bank team, companies can download the Toy Bank donation form (PDF) and send to Foundation Coordinator Melissa Kipp Sorvillo.
