Bring Comfort to Hurricane Sandy’s Youngest Victims

November 5, 2012 | The Toy Industry Foundation (TIF) is accepting toy donations to be delivered to families in New Jersey and New York whose homes have been destroyed by devastating floods, damaging winds and ongoing power outages as a result of Hurricane Sandy.

“Our hearts go out to everyone who lost their homes and belongings during last week’s awful disaster,” said Marisa Medina, Foundation manager.  “With the toy industry’s help, we can provide the affected kids with a friend to hug and something to call their own during this difficult time.”

Along with partner Kids in Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.), TIF will deliver toys, games and crafts to families as well as school supplies to local schools affected by the hurricane, providing young victims with a sense of normalcy and comfort.

“No donation is too small. Every single toy will put a big smile on the face of a young hurricane victim,” added Medina.

The donation form is available for download; free shipping is available for products located east of the Mississippi River.  Questions can be directed to TIF manager Marisa Medina (646.454.5581).  All donations will be received through TIF’s Toy Bank program.
