TIF and BGCA Partners Kick-Off 2011 Play Comforts Programming
On Wednesday, April 13th, the Toy Industry Foundation headed south
once more to distribute toys to children of military families at Marine
Corps Air Station Beaufort and Marine Corps Recruit Depot in South
Carolina. “Fightertown East” is home to six Marine
Corps F/A-18 Hornet fighter-attack squadrons and one Navy F/A-18 strike
fighter squadron. In partnership with Boys and Girls Clubs of America,
TIF made play possible for several hundred kids in attendance with have
one or more parent serving our nation.
The event was the first of many toy distributions scheduled for the
year at bases across the national affected by deployment. The special
event, hosted by MCCS Children, Youth and Teen Program (CYTP),
celebrated the Month of the Military Child and the sacrifices families
make when they serve too.
Toys distributed at the event were generously donated to TIF’s
Toy Bank by Funrise Toy Corporation, Omnicor Inc., The Original Toy
Company, and exhibitors from the 2011 American International Toy
Fair.
