The Toy Industry Foundation (TIF) is shining the spotlight on the
leaders in our toy donor community. These PowerPlayers exemplify
the foundation’s mission to provide joy, comfort and learning to
children in need through the experience of toys and
play. They have demonstrated their charitable spirit and
inspirational outlook through significant and ongoing support of
TIF’s Toy Bank.
Hasbro, Inc.
As one of
the world’s premiere, branded entertainment companies which
focuses on children, Hasbro, Inc. has been making kids smile for
generations. The Hasbro’s Children’s Fund, also impacts
millions of children around the world through charitable grants,
employee volunteerism, and in-kind product donations like those given to
the Toy Industry Foundation’s signature program, The Toy Bank.
Hasbro’s Gift of Play program supports orphanages, disaster relief
organizations, summer camps for sick children, and many other deserving
kids in need.
A long time foundation friend, Hasbro has contributed almost half a
million dollars in Toy Bank toys since the tracking of donations began
in 2003. Each year the company has made a significant gift and in 2010
alone more than 8,500 toys, valued at over $138,000 have been generously
donated to date. From Battleship games at the Ronald McDonald House
summer kick-off to Mr. Potato Head plush for foster infants receiving My
Stuff Duffel Bags, Hasbro has answered the call for each of the
Foundation’s signature partnerships. Most recently, TIF’s
new initiative, Play
Comforts received a large supply of Hasbro toys, games and
action figures that will be distributed to children of all ages at Boys
and Girls Clubs of America on our nation’s military bases with the
highest deployment rates.
“As more of our children are experiencing deployments of one or
two parents, this donation acknowledges that the toy industry
understands the sacrifice of our youth’s service to this
country,” said Terrill Wicks, BGCA Vice President, Military
Services & International Projects. “This gift is great news
for our military children and we are thankful.”
For their leadership in product philanthropy and their shared mission
of bringing joy to those who need it most through the experience of
play, TIF is grateful to Hasbro and is proud to name them as a Power
Player.
