Privacy Policy
The Toy Industry Foundation (TIF) is committed to providing a safe
Cyber environment safeguarding your privacy. The Foundation has taken
special precautions to ensure that the information available through
this Website is as secure as possible because your privacy is important
to us. This statement explains our online information practices and the
choices you can make about the way the information you provide us is
collected and used. Regardless of whether you provide us with your
personal information via our Website or in another manner such as mail
or telephone, we strive to respect and honor your privacy
preferences.
INFORMATION SECURITY
All personal information collected by the Foundation is securely stored,
and will be used solely for identification and/or purposes stated when
the information is requested. The Foundation does not release or publish
information about its users, unless the user volunteers such
information. Access to nonpublic user information is restricted to
authorized TIF personnel who have a need for this data. TIF will not
sell, distribute or otherwise make available to third parties any
information we collect on this Website.
INFORMATION YOU GIVE US
When visiting the Website, you are not required to reveal any personally
identifiable information. There are times, however, depending on the
type of communication or transaction, when we may request information
which can include, but is not limited to your name, e-mail address,
postal address, zip code, telephone number, organization name, credit
card, bank information or billing information. For example, you will be
asked to provide your personal information when making a donation,
requesting communications or ordering materials.
The Foundation aggregates information from all of its visitors into
log files in order to measure the total number of visitors to the
Website and how many visit each area within it. This helps TIF to learn
about which areas are most popular and should be expanded and which are
least popular and should be reduced or eliminated. The Foundation does
not belong to banner ad networks and does not access or allow access by
other organizations. Currently TIF uses WebTrends software to collect
information about visits to our Website. Here is specific
information about WebTrends:
WebTrends conducts its business under the following privacy
principles:
-
Principle 1 - No Collection of Personal Information
WebTrends does not collect personal information such as name,
age, phone number and mailing address from visitors to our customer's
websites.
-
Principle 2 - No Combination of Browsing and Web Traffic
Information with Personal Information
Since WebTrends does not collect any personal information, we
do not combine traffic analysis information with personal information
such as name, age, phone number and mailing address.
-
Principle 3 - No Aggregation of Individual Visitor Traffic
Patterns across Multiple Websites
WebTrends does not collect individual profile information for
visitors across multiple websites and does not aggregate information
from any other sources about browsing patterns of individual visitors
across multiple websites.
-
Principle 4 - Use of Anonymous IP Address
IP addresses are recorded by every website on the Internet.
WebTrends collects this information as well, but does so exclusively for
the following uses: (1) anonymous statistical purposes; or (2)
administration of our website and servers, and to improve our
services.
-
Principle 5 - Anonymous Use of Cookies
It is WebTrends' policy to use cookies only for more accurate
anonymous traffic analysis. The cookie information does NOT include
personal data such as name, age, phone number, e-mail address or mailing
address. In addition, WebTrends does NOT link cookies to personal data
such as name, age, phone number, e-mail address and mailing address.
Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. If you would
prefer, you can set your browser to reject cookies.
-
Principle 6 - No Individual Profiling
WebTrends does not create individual profiles for visitors.
Unlike other tracking services we do not have a database of individual
profiles for each visitor. WebTrends collects data in aggregate form and
data is not recorded or stored for individual visitors.
-
Principle 7 - Limited Use of Cookies
WebTrends uses cookies to track such as the time/date of the
visit, the time/date of last visit, the page viewed, the referrer,
transaction information for eCommerce pages, and other data. The cookies
never include personal information such as name, mailing address and
phone number. We do not collect such information and visitors that we
track cannot provide us with personal information through normal
movement across a website. As we do not build a database of individual
visitors, the data that we do collect is never stored in any individual
user profile; the data collected serves only to update aggregate counts
allowing our customers to monitor traffic on their website. Visitors can
also reject cookies.
“COOKIES”
Our Website logs certain activity of visitors (i.e. how many total
visitors we have, what the most popular pages are, etc). However, that
tracking is NOT done on a personal basis. Other than the specific
instances outlined in this policy, the Foundation does not collect
personal information about users or how they use the Website.
ONLINE DONATIONS
The Foundation collects the following information through our secure
online financial-transaction pages: name, address, e-mail address, phone
number, and credit card information. This personally identifiable
information is used to acknowledge receipt of your donation for tax
purposes and to include you on the Foundation's mailing list if you
choose to join it. When you send a donation in honor or in memory of
someone and request that an acknowledgement be sent to another
individual or a family, we will use the name and address of that
individual or family for acknowledgement purposes only.
MAILING LIST
The Foundation provides a separate online form to join our mailing list.
This information is securely stored internally and accessed only when we
correspond with our mailing list periodically during the year, either
via e-mail or regular mail. Please contact us if at any time you
wish to be removed from the mailing list or if you would like to correct
or change the personal information you have previously provided.

their personal information. None of the content and information in the
Foundation's Website is targeted toward children under 18 years of
age.
