TIA to Organize “Where the Love Affairs Begins”
Display at AAPEX 2011
Exhibit to Highlight Inspirational Value of
Toys
July
26, 2011 | It’s not surprising that many of today’s
professionals – from chefs and doctors to engineers and mechanics to
pilots and race car drivers – took inspiration for their future career
from the toys and games they played with as kids. Play helps to
kick start a child’s imagination and develop important skills.
Recognizing the tie-in between a favorite childhood toy or game and
adult enthusiasm for a hobby or vocation, the Automotive Aftermarket
Industry Association (AAIA) has invited the Toy Industry Association
(TIA) to develop a display of automotive toys for this year’s Automotive
Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX 2011). The exhibit will
feature a wide variety of auto toys – from matchbox cars to RC vehicles
to ride-ons – that will allow expo attendees to take a stroll down
memory lane and catch a glimpse of today’s hottest car-related
innovations in toys; a “hands-on” component of the booth will also allow
show attendees an opportunity to unwind and relax with a few moments of
fun.
AAPEX represents the $395 billion global motor vehicle aftermarket
and brings more than 115,000 professionals from around the globe to Las
Vegas, Nevada for the annual Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week.
This year’s show will be held at the Sands Expo Center from November 1st
to 3rd.
“The toy industry’s presence at AAPEX 2011 will provide show-goers
with the unique opportunity to reflect on how they turned their favorite
play patterns into their current careers,” says Arlene Davis, AAIA’s
Senior Director of Meetings and Events.
Retailers in the motor vehicle aftermarket who are looking to stock
shelves with goods from alternative product categories may find the TIA
display to be a source of inspiration for merchandise that will draw the
attention of both nostalgic shoppers and parents looking to inspire and
educate children about their own passion, hobby or profession.
TIA members are invited to submit their
auto-related toys and games for consideration in the exhibit; other
than the cost of the product and shipping, there is no additional fee to
participate. Additionally, TIA will be collecting archival
advertisements (both print and broadcast) to display in a video
compilation within the booth.
Questions or requests for additional information can be directed to
TIA’s Adrienne
Appell (646.520.4863) or Stacy
Leistner (646.520.4858).
