TIA PR Team Begins Trend Tracking at Fall Toy Preview
August 28, 2012 | The Toy Industry Association (TIA)
communications team is reminding all Fall Toy
Preview exhibitors to maximize product exposure by booking
preview appointments with TIA trend spotters at Fall Toy Preview, taking
place October 2-4, 2012 at the Dallas Market Center in Dallas, TX.
“Scouting new product at Fall Toy Preview helps us to establish
the latest trends for the coming year,” explained Adrienne Appell,
TIA senior manager of public relations. “All of the information
gathered is kept under embargo and used by us to help prepare for Toy
Fair – these appointments help companies attract media attention
to new product lines at the February show.”
While Fall Toy Preview is not billed as a media event and TIA does
not actively promote the show to the press, TIA’s communications
team will assist with media requests related to products that will be on
the market for Holiday 2013 (due to the long-lead nature of the show,
TIA does not facilitate media opportunities for products that will be
available during Holiday 2012).
Companies willing to discuss and show product on-camera new for
Holiday 2013 are invited to share with TIA an on-site point of contact
so that they may be connected with local media looking to access FTP in
search of products that will be on the market during the fourth quarter
of next year.
Fall Toy Preview is open to the trade, including trade media, and it
is the choice of each exhibitor whether to accept media appointments
(trade or other) during the show. Representatives of the following toy
industry trade publications are currently pre-registered to attend
(others may still register): The Bloom Report, Toys &
Family Entertainment and Royalties (aNb Media) and Toy
Book (Adventure Publishing).
Preference for preview appointments and media opportunities is given
to TIA members; meetings can be booked through Adrienne
Appell (646.520.4853 or 646.207.3724
on-site). Exhibitors who have arranged their own media
appointments must notify TIA, and access to the show floor for all media
guests (excluding toy trade publications) must be arranged through TIA.
For on-site assistance, exhibitors can stop by the Show Office on the
12th Floor of the Dallas Market Center.
A by-appointment-only event, Fall Toy Preview annually attracts
worldwide toy sellers who visit the show to preview the latest
innovations in toys, games and youth entertainment products. To
participate, exhibitors must currently sell to mass market accounts and
all products shown must be available for fourth quarter sales in the
following year. Booth space applications, as well as a constantly
updated roster of buyers and exhibitors, can be found at FallToyPreview.org.
