Trend Tracking for Toy Fair 2012 Begins at Fall Toy Preview – Appointment Bookings Now Open

September 13, 2011 | The Toy Industry Association (TIA) public relations team is reminding all Fall Toy Preview exhibitor PR and media contacts to maximize product exposure by booking preview appointments with TIA trend spotters at Fall Toy Preview, taking place October 4-6, 2011 at the Dallas Market Center in Dallas, TX.

“In preparation for Toy Fair 2012, we are taking appointments during Fall Toy Preview to track new and emerging trends,” says Adrienne Appell, TIA senior manager of public relations. “All of the information is kept under embargo but used to prepare for Toy Fair – and can help companies attract media attention to new product lines at the February show.”

Appell added that while Fall Toy Preview is not billed as a media event, TIA will assist with media requests related to products that will be on the market for Holiday 2012 (due to the long-lead nature of the show, TIA does not facilitate media opportunities for products that will be available during Holiday 2011).

“If any organization is willing to discuss and show product on-camera that will be new for Holiday 2012, we will pass this information along to the local press contact. It isn’t a guaranteed placement, but a pass-through of possible leads the outlet can explore,” says Appell.

A by-appointment-only event, Fall Toy Preview annually attracts worldwide toy sellers – to date, close to 700 buyers from nearly 400 outlets have registered, and year-to-date international registration is ahead 26% with 36 countries slated to attend. Retailers that have recently signed on include Walmart Canada, Williams-Sonoma, Toys R Us Australia, PriceMart.com and Highlights for Children.
