ShopToyFair365 Among Several Online Resources Available to Toy Fair Attendees

E-Commerce Tool Attracts Hundreds of Buyers and Toy Fair Exhibitors

January 27, 2014 |
Within an hour of opening its ‘virtual doors’ to the buying community this morning, the Toy Industry Association’s (TIA) new ShopToyFair365 e-commerce tool attracted more than 300 global retailers eager to get a first-look at some of the toys and games that will make their debut at the American International Toy Fair this February.

Since the ShopToyFair365 site launched in December 2013, more than 270 manufacturers have already activated digital “showrooms” filled with product images, pricing and availability information.  Upwards of 2,000 toys, games and youth entertainment products have been loaded into the system for buyers to virtually browse, “like” and even order in advance of Toy Fair.

The number of buyers and sellers using the free tool is expected to rise and surpass initial projections leading up to Toy Fair’s opening on February 16th.

“We are thrilled to see Toy Fair’s registered retail buyers seizing this incredible opportunity to plan their show itineraries, network with toy manufacturers, and place purchase orders before Toy Fair even opens its doors!” said Marian Bossard, TIA vice president of meetings & events. “The value of this B2B marketplace has not been lost on our exhibitors, either. Brand new companies with only one or two items are building an online presence, and companies with decades of experience are also uploading their product lines.”

The cost of hosting an active showroom on the site is included in the cost of exhibiting at Toy Fair; transaction fees on every order received through ShopToyFair365 have been waived through December 31, 2014 as part of the tool’s introduction. (In 2015, the fees will be 3% for TIA member sellers and 4% for non-member sellers). More information and FAQs about ShopToyFair365 can be found online

Toy Fair offers a number of additional free online resources to help participants make the most of their time spent in New York City:
  • Toy Fair Mobile (available for free in the iTunes/Google Play stores)
This handy mobile app is designed to help show attendees navigate the Javits Center; find out about the show’s various educational sessions and special events; post photos; and more. (Unlike ShopToyFair365, this app does not allow users to conduct order-writing or view products.)

  • Online Calendar of Booth Happenings and Show Events
Exhibitors may add any special events occurring during Toy Fair (such as a celebrity appearance, press conference, cocktail party, book signing, etc.) to the online public calendar of show events. Information submitted before February 1st will be listed on the Events page of the Toy Fair website, streamed on Toy Fair Mobile, and posted for review in the Toy Fair Press Room.

  • Toy Fair Online Press Room
The Online Press Room is an important tool that allows exhibitors to post their company profiles, press releases, and other information for members of the media to browse. Social media content that is tagged #TF14 or #TFNY will stream directly to the Online Press Room. Services ranging from posting announcements to wire service distributions are available; contact for more information.

  • Toy Fair Product Information Database
Every Toy Fair exhibitor is invited to submit up to three products for inclusion in the master Toy Fair trends database that is used by the TIA PR/Trends Team to inform and educate media on products and trends at the show. All product information must be submitted electronically. (NOTE: Because records are not modifiable following submission, exhibitors are encouraged to prepare their submissions in advance using this downloadable sample form.)
